Air purifier : Remember air purifier ionizers
Don't get confused about carbon air purifier ionizers
There are numerous products on the market, so people often get confused, as to which product suits them best.
Therefore it is worth remembering:
- The element from which negative ions flow from has to visible on the surface otherwise the ions can be destroyed on their way to the exit. The best is a carbon air purifier, which does not transmit ozone. If we want the machine to be effective, it has to transmit at least several million negative ions per cubic centimeter per second.
- An air moisturizer IS NOT an air purifier, although some stores are wrongly selling it as an air purifier in order to sell it more easily. No moisturizer can transmit negative ions, it can only emit steam, or it can turn water into mist with an ultrasound membrane. This mist is nothing but water vapor, which can be even damaging for allergics and asthmatics and are excellent nourishers of bacteria and viruses. Therefore it is necessary to turn on also the real air purifier, when the air moisturizer is used. Even if some importers offer air moisturizers which also have a button for ionization, a test with an ionoscope does not show any indication of ions, as there is no element on the surface to transmit them, and if they would form on the inside, they would be destroyed on their way towards the exit. The element for the transmission of the negative ions should be clearly visible and touchable on the outer surface.
- The air purifier should be small, so it can be moved around your apartment, but it should be foremost absolutely silent and not disturbing at night in the bedroom, without the ventilator, conditioned by filters, which cannot withhold the submicrometer carcinogenic particles and exhaust fumes. These can be removed only by negative ions.
- It is vital for the seller of the air purifier to ensure all the necessary certificates and spare parts, so that you will not need to throw away the carbon air purifier because of a malfunctioning switch. Therefore a Slovene product has a great advantage.
- A salt lamp IS NOT an air purifier ionizer - it is only a decorative item, as it does not contain a high voltage transformer to enable negative ion transmission.
